Why taking out the bins is a magickal act

The laws of this 3 dimensional reality work on the principles of Solve et Coagula.

Solve meaning to dissolve something that once existed.

Coagula meaning to reform what has been dissolved into a new pattern or formation.

We see this reflected throughout nature and in the seasons. Life is constantly composting and regenerating.

This process of death and rebirth will happen to us naturally, simply in the process of being alive. Change will happen. One thing will make way for the next.

But in magick, we deliberately engage in the practice of solve et coagula.

We root up old beliefs that no longer work within ourselves and are limiting us.

We make them conscious in order to transmute them into something new.

We deliberately coagulate our subconscious minds into new forms through meditation, visualisations and communicating our desired vision to our unconscious mind through artful practices.

Magick is to consciously and consistently engage in the process of solve et coagula, destruction and creation, within and without.

Once these principles become embedded as the foundations of our magick practice, all of life, including the mundane, can be viewed as a magical act.

Taking the bins out, or clearing an old drawer, becomes a deliberate choice to release and clear out old energy. Letting go of the old in order to make space for the new.

In fact, some of the most important solve we can do is in our immediate physical environment. The items we choose to have around us and in our homes, are constantly imprinting on our subconscious minds. Calcifying energy and identities that act as a feedback loop for the habits and outcomes that we already know.

A major act of coagula is to deliberately curate our spaces, coding them with the energy of our desires. Weaving a new identity into our surroundings through the items we choose to surround ourselves with. Our unconscious, creative mind is always interacting with and taking it’s coding from our environment.

The principles of Solve et Coagula are present in both high and low magick. In the mundane daily acts, and the most esoteric of ceremonial magick rituals.

In magick, we are constantly breaking down our ego and the limitations it has placed on us and then consciously reforming that ego into something more expansive.

With an awareness of these basic principles, what do you become aware of within your life that is ripe for breaking down and forming into something new?
